Washington - Jack Kemp, 73, the quarterback, congressman, onetime degeneracy presidential nominee, and self-described “bleeding-heart conservative,” died yesterday. His spokeswoman Bona Park and longtime acquaintance and prior compete counsel Edwin J. Feulner confirmed that he died after a covet illness. Mr. Kemp announced in January that he had been diagnosed with cancer. He said he was undergoing tests.
Senate Republican numero uno Mitch McConnell of Kentucky called Mr. Kemp “one of the nation’s most honourable customers servants. Jack was a stalwart chance in American machination for more than four decades.” Mr. Kemp, a late quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, represented western New York for nine terms in Congress, leaving the House for an foiled presidential pray in 1988.
